Saprophytes are the decomposer of the rain forest. They grow on trees and on the ground. Most Saprophytes are to small to see with a human eye. They can be very tiny. Spider monkeys eat these fungi. Saprophytes eat dead insects and dead twigs. The sun keeps the Saprophyte growing. They can be white and brown. Saprophytes are really important because they clean up the rainforest.
